November 2006 by Incorporators Michael Loftus and Susan Dickinson; forms filed by Donna Vincenti, Attorney

What It Is:

The Tri-state Chamber Foundation Inc. is a 501C3, (public charity) and was formed for the purpose of taking over and expanding the charitable and educational endeavors of the Tri-state Chamber of Commerce. The Foundation is not “related” to the Chamber of Commerce and its’ bylaws prohibit the use of any funds for purposes other than charitable purposes, including those of the Chamber of Commerce.
All donations are 100% tax deductible.

Who It Is:

The Foundation has its’ own Bylaws, and its’ own Board of Directors:

Michael Loftus, President
Mona Staaf-Hoffman, Vice President
Susan Dickinson, Treasurer
Diane Heiny
Liz Shapira
Ed Downey

Anyone needing more information should contact any of the Board members listed above.

What It Supports:

Solicitations will ask for donations from individuals and organizations in order to fund the Scholarship program for Housatonic Valley Regional High School, Oliver Wolcott Technical School, and Webutuck High School, as well as the Adopt A Tree Program and other downtown beautification programs in towns served by the Tri-state Chamber Foundation. Funds may not be used to promote or support the purposes of the Tri-state Chamber of Commerce.

How It’s Funded:

The Tri-state Chamber Foundation has its’ own budget, and in 2006, with $900 seed money donated in lieu of birthday gifts for Michael Loftus’s 50th birthday bash, solicited funds through the local Adopt-A –Tree appeal and through participation in the Northwest Arts Council Bear Affair Event. No monies have been awarded to date. Currently there is $9700.00 in the account.

The address of the Foundation is the same as the Chamber of Commerce, although the two organizations are exclusive of each other. The Foundation does not have a separate phone or a logo at this time.
